Irrigation Rust Stain Treatment

The wood siding at Royalwood Golf Course in Greendale, BC had developed heavy orange staining from repeated irrigation overspray. Over time, hard water minerals and rust deposits had built up across the painted boards, leaving sections of the siding looking yellowed and weathered compared to the original grey finish.

We treated the affected siding with a specialized cleaner designed to break down hard water and irrigation rust staining. Because the surface was painted wood, we avoided aggressive pressure and instead relied on controlled chemical treatment to lift the mineral deposits as safely as possible. The solution was applied to the stained areas, allowed to work into the buildup, and then thoroughly rinsed away.

The difference was easy to see. Much of the orange discoloration was removed, bringing the siding much closer to its original grey appearance and making the surface look cleaner and more consistent. The treatment improved the look of the wood without the need for heavy pressure or abrasive cleaning.
