Backyard Prickle Bush Pruning

This backyard in Yarrow had a corner that had become heavily overgrown with thick, thorny bushes and tangled vegetation. The growth had spread along the fence line, around the large post, and into the surrounding yard, making the area difficult to access and maintain. The homeowner wanted the overgrowth cleared out so the space would be easier to manage and the fence line could be opened back up.

We started by cutting back the larger branches and thorny growth by hand, working carefully around the fence, retaining wall, and post. Once the bulk of the vegetation was removed, we cleared out the smaller growth, weeds, and loose debris that had built up underneath. Working manually allowed us to get into the tight areas along the fence line without causing unnecessary damage to the surrounding property.

The difference was significant. What had been a dense, tangled corner was opened up into a much cleaner and more accessible part of the yard. The fence line is visible again, the area around the post is clear, and the homeowner now has a much easier space to maintain or landscape in the future.

This vegetation removal project was completed at a residential property in Yarrow, BC. It’s a good example of how clearing unwanted overgrowth can quickly reclaim usable space and make an overlooked section of a yard feel much more manageable.
